August - September Spotlight / Linda Andrews
Linda has been a faithful supporter of A Little Something in South Berwick, Maine since we first opened in 2017. Imagine our delight when a customer came into the shop during Strawberry Festival to show us a mini piece they had just purchased from Linda. She asked if we would please carry a selection of Linda's art so that she would easily be able to purchase it in the future.
"YES!", we replied.

July Artist Spotlight - Danielle LeHoux
Danielle always loved to create art and spent many hours of her youth drawing with markers and pastels, shaping clay into pots, dabbling in printmaking, and painting. During college, she started exploring graphic design and found that working on a computer really spoke to her for many reasons. This medium quickly became her favorite way to create art.

Do you know what you need? YES! - A Kick in the Glass Beads
Their price points are affordable and their designs remind many of the beaches and rocky shores. The handcrafted beads are fashioned into earrings, necklaces, bracelets, key rings, and bookmarks and are a perfect gift for individuals who love the ocean and wear jewelry. It happens to be icing on the cake that their pieces are made in the next town over from us in Maine.
We are proud to spotlight A Kick in the Glass Beads and hope you have the opportunity to come in and get to know their extraordinary work a little bit better.

Oh the people that you meet... we can't wait for you to meet Jim & Sébastien of Wayward Chickadee!
This is A Little Something and the magic that seems to happen just about every day in our two year old store. It's highly likely that when shopping you will bump into either an author, artist, or artisan. Just like today, the kind woman and her husband visiting their grandchildren were able to not only meet the maker of their soap purchase but exchange life stories, connect on a personal level, and learn first hand about the product they were buying to bring back. This is what community does best, supports one another, builds connections through face to face encounters, and teaches each of us how very small our magnificent world is if we simply allow ourselves to be open. -
"I want the kids to have something they can give to their mom or dad." Ralph Hyson, local artisan.
"..When we share a story about a local artist, author, or artisan more times than not we focus on what they create. We place a bright spotlight on their art, their writing, or pieces they have crafted in towns nearby. The seacoast seems to be a treasure trove of multi talented individuals and we are fortunate to have an up close view of a lot of amazing work done in this part of the world. I was trying to pick a topic for this month's feature, flipping through photos, walking through the store nothing seemed to jump out at me, and then Ralph Hyson walked through the door and I smiled. The Universe never seems to miss a cue and in an instant "aha moment" I knew that it was Ralph's story that we needed to share." -
